MB24 fraud ringleader Vu Ngoc Thuyen was sentenced to 4 years in prison but is still running his multi-level marketing company Vietnet.

Regarding the Muaban24 (MB24) fraud ring, on January 8, 2015, the Bac Giang Provincial People's Court sentenced Vu Ngoc Thuyen (born in 1976, Lang Giang, Bac Giang) to 4 years in prison for the crime of "Using computer networks, telecommunication networks, and the Internet to commit acts of property appropriation".

Previously, in August 2011, Vu Ngoc Thuyen was appointed by the leadership of MB24 Online Trading Training Joint Stock Company as the Director of MB24 Company - Bac Giang City Branch.

Subsequently, Thuyen organized propaganda campaigns and then committed fraud, appropriating a total of nearly 170 million VND. Notably, despite being sentenced in early 2015, this individual has yet to serve his sentence.

Furthermore, Thuyen also "naturally" became the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Consumer Alliance Joint Stock Company (No. 15 Dang Thuy Tram Street, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi), Dan Tri newspaper reported.

It is known that on June 21, 2013, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang province issued a multi-level marketing registration certificate to Vietnet Company. At the time of Vietnet's establishment, Vu Ngoc Thuyen held the position of General Director. However, at this time, Thuyen is being held in temporary detention for investigation.

Furthermore, during an inspection in Hanoi, Vietnet Company was found to have committed violations due to operating an unlicensed multi-level marketing scheme. Specifically, the company's license, issued in March 2014, permitted multi-level marketing, but the license issued in June 2014 did not.

In addition, the company also violated regulations by using its website for unauthorized e-commerce transactions, and failing to notify the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade about many of its products.
