Regarding the Muaban24 (MB24) fraud ring, on January 8, 2015, the People's Court of Bac Giang province sentenced Vu Ngoc Thuyen (born 1976, Lang Giang, Bac Giang) to 4 years in prison for the crime of "Using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and the Internet to commit acts of property appropriation".
Previously, in August 2011, Vu Ngoc Thuyen was appointed by the Board of Directors of MB24 Online Trading Training Joint Stock Company as Director of MB24 Company - Bac Giang City Branch.
After that, Thuyen organized propaganda and then defrauded and appropriated a total of nearly 170 million VND. Notably, although he was sentenced in early 2015, he has not yet served his sentence.
In addition, Thuyen also "naturally" became Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Consumer Union Joint Stock Company (No. 15 Dang Thuy Tram Street, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi), Dan Tri reported.
It is known that on June 21, 2013, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang province issued a multi-level marketing registration certificate to Vietnet Company. At the time of Vietnet's establishment, Vu Ngoc Thuyen held the role of General Director. However, at this time, Thuyen is being detained for investigation.
In addition, Vietnet Company, when inspected, was found to have committed violations in Hanoi due to its unlicensed multi-level marketing business. Specifically, the company’s license was granted the first time (March 2014) allowing multi-level marketing business but not the second time (June 2014).
In addition, this company also violated the law by using the website for unauthorized e-commerce transactions, and many items were not reported to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
