Fishermen caught a strange fish, suspected to be a golden snapper.

(Baonghean.vn) - While fishing about 5km offshore in the Quynh Luu area, a fisherman from Quynh Long commune unexpectedly caught a strange fish, with a shimmering golden color, suspected to be a golden snapper.

The fisherman who caught the unusual fish is Nguyen Van Luu, born in 1988, residing in Cong Hoa village, Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district.

Reportedly, on November 3rd, while fishing in the waters off Quynh Luu district (about 5km from the shore), Mr. Luu unexpectedly caught a golden-yellow fish weighing about 2kg. After bringing it ashore, Mr. Luu sold the fish to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cuong, born in 1987, a resident of the same commune.

Mr. Luu caught two fish that are suspected to be golden snapper.

Upon hearing the story, many curious locals came to Mr. Cuong's house to see the fish and believed it to be a rare golden snapper. Mr. Cuong's family kept the unusual fish.

Upon hearing about the incident, someone came to Mr. Cuong's house to see the fish and offered 3 million dong, but the family refused.

After selling the unusual fish, Mr. Luu continued fishing at sea. Near the same spot where he had caught the unusual fish, he unexpectedly caught two more fish with similar colors and shapes, weighing nearly 4kg in total. At this point, Mr. Luu's family decided to keep both fish.

Upon observation, the strange fish, suspected to be the rare golden croaker, have a shimmering golden color on their backs, and a pale white with a yellowish tint on their bellies. Behind the caudal fin, there is a finger-sized black dot.

Reportedly, in 2013, off the coast of Diem Dien port (Thai Thuy, Thai Binh), Mr. Bui Dinh Thang caught a 2.1-meter-long golden snapper. Immediately after bringing it ashore, a mysterious wealthy man named Tuan, believed to be from Tien Hai district, Thai Binh, paid 1.5 billion VND to buy the fish.

The sale of a golden snapper for 1.5 billion VND has caused a stir in Thai Binh province. This fish is being offered at a price "more expensive than gold" because it possesses a very special swim bladder, which is used in medicine in developed countries as a highly effective tool. This is the organic material used to produce a type of self-dissolving suture that can break down after surgery, causing no tissue damage and minimizing the risk of infection.
