Fishermen in Dien Chau can build boats with a capacity of over 400 horsepower at the Dien Ngoc craft village.

Implementing the policy of the District People's Council to support 30 million VND for the construction of new vessels of 150 horsepower or more, in 2016, the Dien Chau District People's Committee provided 1.56 billion VND to fishermen to build 52 new vessels. Of these, 9 vessels had a capacity of 150 to under 400 horsepower, and 43 vessels had a capacity of 400 horsepower or more.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee provided a subsidy of 150 million VND per vessel for ships with a capacity exceeding 400 horsepower, equivalent to 6.45 billion VND. This year saw the highest number of newly built offshore fishing vessels ever in Dien Chau, bringing the total number of offshore fishing vessels in the district to 149.
