Fishermen in Dien Chau earn millions of dong every morning when they remove their nets.

(Baonghean.vn) - Hundreds of fishing rafts belonging to fishermen in Dien Chau district (Nghe An province) bring in fresh catches of herring every day. According to the locals, this year's herring harvest is abundant, with fishermen earning millions of dong per trip.

The herring fishing season begins in late February and lasts until the end of May. According to Bui Van Luong, a fisherman in Dien Kim commune, the herring swim in schools, 2-5 nautical miles from the shore. "We usually go out at 2 am and start returning to shore around 7 am to collect the fish. Almost every trip yields 150-200 kg, selling for 13,000 VND/kg, bringing in millions of dong.
