Due to the nature of fishing close to shore and the short fishing time, the seafood is mainly fresh shrimp, squid, mantis shrimp, fish... so customers like it. Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - owner of a fishing boat in Ngoc Bich commune (Dien Chau) said that this first fishing trip of the year caught 300 kg of various seafood, earning about 9 million VND. Among the seafood that customers love at the beginning of the year are shrimp, squid... especially the fish (sod fish) which is sought after by many people, so this type of fish costs 130,000 VND/kg but is still not available for sale, because the quantity caught is not much. Photo: Xuan Hoang

Fishermen said that at the beginning of the new year, many customers from the city are returning to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, so they go to the fishing port to buy fresh seafood to eat, so the prices of shrimp, squid, anchovies, etc. are higher than before Tet. However, according to the Lach Van Fishing Port Management Board, on the 4th day of Tet, there were not many fishermen "going to sea" at the beginning of the year, about 10 boats, so the output was not high. It is expected that on the 6th day of Tet, most of the Dien Chau fishermen will go to sea at the same time, so the output will be higher. Photo: Xuan Hoang
