Fisherman wins a haul of golden fish worth over 6 billion VND
At 9:00 a.m. on February 11, the first transit ship carrying 20 tons of more than 100 tons of yellowfin tuna arrived at the fishing port, to the ecstatic joy of the fishermen.

Previously, at 7:30 p.m. on February 10, after a day of fishing at sea, fishing boat numbered QT 90172 of fisherman Le Van Vien, 40 years old, residing in Xuan Tien village, Gio Viet commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province, fishing with lead-pull seine nets in the sea area of Con Co island, hit a haul of yellowfin tuna, initially estimated at more than 100 tons.
Before the big fortune at the beginning of the year, Mr. Vien had to organize the fishermen of the village to go fishing together at sea, put the fish on his boat and use the transfer boat to take the fish to shore. It is expected that by the evening of February 11, he will have caught all the big fish that have been in his net. This is the second trip to sea since the beginning of the new year of the Pig 2019 for fisherman Le Van Vien.
Chairman of Gio Viet Commune People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thuong, said that currently, yellow catfish is priced at 60 thousand VND/kg, estimated that the catch of fisherman Le Van Vien just caught is worth more than 6 billion VND. Traders were present at Cua Viet fishing port to buy all of Mr. Vien's yellow catfish. According to Mr. Thuong, during this sea trip, many fishing boats of Gio Viet commune caught yellow catfish, but with the quantity of 10 to 15 tons/boat, only Vien's boat had the biggest catch.

Mr. Tran Van Quang - Chairman of Gio Linh District People's Committee, present at Cua Viet fishing port, said that the offshore fishing fleet as well as the output of aquatic and seafood catches of this district accounts for more than 60% of the whole province, most concentrated in the fishing fleet of Gio Viet commune and Cua Viet town.
By nearly 11:00 a.m. on February 11, Mr. Vien and the fishermen had brought more than 50 tons of fish from the net onto the boat.

Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chinh, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, was also present at Cua Viet fishing port, congratulating the family of fisherman Le Van Vien as well as the fishermen. Mr. Nguyen Duc Chinh said that catching such a large catch of fish proves that the Quang Tri marine environment is safe again. In recent years, the province has had many policies to encourage and support fishermen to develop the marine economy, creating conditions for fishermen to build new, repair and upgrade their fishing fleet, so fishermen have high income from the sea.

Two weeks ago, fisherman Le Van Tuan, Gio Viet commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province also hit a catch of more than 150 tons of fish at the Con Co fishing ground.
