Woman hired to transport 22 heroin cakes, charged 50 million VND
The subject confessed to transporting 22 heroin cakes for hire for a person in Ho Chi Minh City, in exchange for a payment of 50 million VND.
On December 15, the People's Procuracy of Dak Lak province issued an indictment against defendant Phan Thi Dao (born in 1980, residing in Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province) for the act of Illegally transporting drugs.

According to the indictment, at around 2:00 a.m. on August 14, 2018, the investigation team of the Drug Crime Investigation Police (PC47) of Dak Lak Provincial Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Station of Krong Buk and the Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police to discover that a passenger bus traveling from Nghe An to Ho Chi Minh City had many suspicious signs, so they conducted an inspection.

Through initial investigation, the authorities identified the "owner" of these 22 heroin cakes as Phan Thi Dao.
At the police station, Dao confessed that he was transporting drugs for a subject from Laos to Ho Chi Minh City, receiving a salary of 50 million VND per trip.Dao went to Cau Treo border gate (Ha Tinh) then crossed the border to Laos to receive drugs from a stranger to transfer to Vietnam.
Dao was transporting drugs hidden in an engine from Ha Tinh to Pong Drang commune, Krong Buk district (Dak Lak province) when he was discovered and arrested by the police along with the evidence.Dao also confessed that he had previously successfully transported drugs for Hien twice, also for a fee of 50 million VND per trip.
Dak Lak Provincial Police said this was the largest drug trafficking case ever discovered in Dak Lak province.
