Locals are preparing a supply of clean chicken to serve the Tet market.

On a 2.7-hectare plot of land leased from a farm, Mr. Pham Kim Hao in Hamlet 11, Linh Son Commune, is currently raising 6,000 broiler chickens, of which 4,000 are ready for sale, and 2,000 are being raised to supply the market during the Tet holiday.

Thanks to his ample land, Mr. Hao raises both free-range and confined chickens, allowing them to grow quickly... With careful preparation regarding breeding stock and disease prevention, Mr. Hao's family hopes that the chickens for the end of the year will thrive, fetch a good price, and be easily sold.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh's family in Ke May village, Cam Son commune, recently purchased 1,500 chicks. In about three months, the chickens will be ready to supply the market for Tet (Lunar New Year).

This year, during the Lunar New Year season, it is estimated that Anh Son district will sell over 500,000 chickens to the market, mainly of breeds such as Ri chickens, fighting chicken hybrids, and native chickens. According to most chicken farmers, the end of the year usually brings high profits due to strong consumer demand and increased selling prices.

To meet the growing demand for food, households have now shifted from small-scale to large-scale livestock farming, with a concentration in 21 large farms, while the rest are household farms with a scale of 500 animals or more.

For this year's Tet (Lunar New Year) season, poultry farmers in Anh Son district are focusing on raising free-range chickens, with a flock increase of 15-20%, mainly in the communes of Cam Son, Tuong Son, Khai Son, Duc Son, etc.
