People in Nghe An province are harvesting deer antlers during the season.

At this time of year, farmers in Nghe An are busy harvesting deer antlers. This year, deer antlers are fetching good prices, so farmers are very happy, with some localities earning tens of billions of dong from deer antlers.

Antlers are ready for harvesting when they are 40-50 days old. According to Mr. Le Tran Trang, a long-time deer breeder in Quynh Vinh commune, from October of the previous year to January of the following lunar year, it is necessary to focus on nourishing the deer to stimulate antler growth. In addition to feeding them common vegetables and grasses, breeders will mix in foods rich in fat such as corn, soybeans, and glutinous rice to increase nutrients, helping the deer grow healthily and produce large antlers.
