Man in police uniform robbed gold and threw it on the street
A robber carrying an AK gun broke into two gold shops in Dong Ba market, took gold and threw it on the street, then fled on the afternoon of July 31.
At around 12:30, a man dressed as a police officer, carrying an AK gun, stormed into the Hoang Duc and Thai Loi gold shops in Dong Ba market. After firing several shots that broke the glass case, the man took the gold, put it in a bag, ran to the front gate of the market, threw the bag of gold onto Tran Hung Dao street and the bushes, and shouted "gold for the poor".
The robber then walked to Gia Hoi bridge, down to the hexagonal house area on Trinh Cong Son street, while walking he fired a gun into the air.witnessA woman in the gold shop was injured in the abdomen and was taken to hospital.

Thua Thien Hue police mobilized many forces to surround and capture the robber. Traffic police set up perimeters, local police called on people not to enter dangerous areas, fire police, riot police wearing body armor and armored vehicles approached the subject in the Gia Hoi bridge area.
Tran Hung Dao Street, in front of Dong Ba Market, was blocked off. Hundreds of traders in Dong Ba Market and residents near Gia Hoi Bridge were asked to leave the scene and close their doors to prevent stray bullets. However, seeing the gold thrown onto the street, many people rushed to pick it up, causing chaos.
At 2 p.m., it was determined that the suspect was hiding in the park under Gia Hoi bridge. Colonel Dang Ngoc Son, Deputy Director of Thua Thien Hue Police, came to advise him.
The suspect then surrendered. His name is Ngo Van Quoc, 38 years old, residing in Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province.

Police seized many bullet shells, an empty AK gun magazine, a box with bullets and the AK47 used in the crime.
Two gold shops are being sealed off for police investigation. At Hoang Duc, the gold display case has at least two bullet holes, and glass fragments are scattered about.
Dong Ba is the most famous and bustling market in Hue city, located on the north bank of the Perfume River, on Tran Hung Dao street. This place attracts many domestic and foreign tourists on their Hue tour.
