Man dies after being entangled in fiber optic cable

(Baonghean.vn) - After storm No. 10, a man died on the spot due to being entangled in a broken fiber optic cable.

The incident occurred at Km1+300 National Highway 46 in Khanh Thinh hamlet, Nghi Khanh commune, Nghi Loc district.

According to initial information, the victim was Mr. Hoang Trong Bang (born in 1977, residing in Gom hamlet, Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district).

At around 3am on September 16, Mr. Bang was driving through the above mentioned road when suddenly a fiber optic cable that was lying across the road due to storm No. 10 got caught in his neck. As a result, he fell backwards onto the road, the fiber optic cable broke his throat and he died on the spot.

The motorbike with license plate 37-K1 811.72 driven by Mr. Bang ran by inertia for about 25 meters before stopping.

Nghi Loc District Police have examined the scene and summoned relevant people to clarify the cause, and at the same time handed over the body to the family for funeral arrangements./.
