Hue man loves to 'meddle in other people's business' in Nghe An
In the Hue Association in Nghe An, Phan Huu Tinh (born in 1979) is loved not only for his enthusiasm and dynamism in activities. People also admire him for his story of overcoming difficulties, his determination to rise up, and his good heart, always for everyone.
The quietest person
During a trip to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions with Mr. Tinh's volunteer group, we witnessed and were truly impressed by his meticulousness and responsibility.

The group departed from Vinh city to offer incense at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery. Because many people did not have transportation, Mr. Tinh left very early to pick everyone up. At all destinations, he always arrived early to wait for others, not making anyone wait for him, always paying attention to the health and circumstances of each member to provide timely support. The next day, he was also the first to arrive to take on the task of transporting, loading, and dividing gifts to give to wounded and sick soldiers...
For the past 4 years, Phan Huu Tinh's image has been associated with activities.volunteerSometimes he cooks and distributes free porridge to patients at hospitals, sometimes he takes care of the lonely elderly and orphans, sometimes he shows gratitude and visits wounded and sick soldiers... In any activity, Mr. Tinh is always one of the first to arrive and the last to stay. He does everything in silence, with surprising dedication and composure.

“Mr. Tinh is like that. In all activities, he is always the person who talks the least but does the most, is always the quietest but most responsible, is always the most reserved but also the most profound. I got to know Mr. Tinh around the end of 2020, when I participated in supporting the people of Quang Binh during the historic flood. After that support trip, Mr. Tinh also helped us transport relief supplies to people quarantined due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Since then, he has been one of the active volunteers in charity activities in the area. In 2023, Mr. Tinh received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for his many contributions to charity activities in the period of 2021-2023. The bonus money received from this achievement was also used by him to support people in difficult circumstances" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh - Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society shared.
Sharing the same feeling, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Head of the volunteer group "Friends" in Hanoi said: "I have met many good people, worked with many philanthropists, but have never met anyone as special as Mr. Tinh. He does not hesitate to face any difficulties and sincerely wants to share with the unfortunate without expecting any response or recognition. Every time his son comes back from studying far away, Mr. Tinh always invites him to join the volunteer work together."

Indeed, without any recognition, Mr. Tinh considers the lonely old man in Hung Binh ward who the volunteer group has adopted as a relative, and whenever he passes by or has something nearby, he visits. He considers the orphan girl living with her grandparents in Cua Nam ward who the group has adopted as his own child, so every month he personally comes to give gifts. Every Friday night and 3am on Saturday morning, whether it is winter or summer, he arranges all his work to become one of the earliest people to arrive and do the most at the kitchen of the group “Pot of Porridge of Love”. If anyone needs help, as long as he can, he will be there immediately… For him, helping people in difficult circumstances is no longer an option, it seems to have become the instinct of this quiet Hue man.
Love on the good land
Because Mr. Tinh is quiet, not many people knew that he was from Hue when they first met him. After more than 25 years of attachment, Nghe An is not only his wife's hometown but also the "good land" of all members of his family.

Anh Tinh is the eldest son in a poor family with many children. Since he was a child, aware of the family's poverty, his mother's poor health and his father's mistakes, Tinh understood that he had the responsibility to take care of his younger siblings on his parents' behalf. At the age of 17, to earn money to raise his younger siblings, Phan Huu Tinh decided to learn the construction trade and find a job.
“In my hometown, there are many construction workers. I learned the trade from them, and when I was skilled, I applied for a job. Because there was little work in Hue, I went to Vinh and worked for some contractors who were also from Hue. After 2 years of working for hire, seeing my good skills, a customer proactively suggested that I manage a group of workers and take on projects for them. Coincidentally, I became a contractor from then on. Since then, although the economy has had difficult times and the market has struggled, I have never run out of work, and my team of workers has never lacked projects,” Tinh shared.

With a sincere and honest Hue accent, Mr. Tinh confided: “After me, there are 7 younger siblings, 4 boys and 3 girls. After my work became more stable, I took all 7 of them to Vinh city to start a business and build a life in this city. Up to now, all 7 of them have started families, 3 younger brothers are also construction contractors, 3 younger sisters provide hair cutting, shampooing, and beauty services, and the remaining younger brother just went to work in Singapore.”
The story of Mr. Tinh taking care of his younger siblings is well known to many people. “Mr. Tinh is a man with a heavy burden on his family. When he brought his younger siblings to Vinh, Mr. Tinh not only took care of their food and sleeping place but also took care of each child’s job. His son was taught construction skills and then supported with capital to start his own business. His daughter was sent to learn a service profession and then he opened a kiosk and rented a place to work. Once their jobs were stable, he also took care of their marriages and arranged their marriages. That diligence and exemplary behavior is the foundation for his younger siblings to follow. Not only that, Mr. Tinh also plays a big role in connecting and building the Hue community in Nghe An. Despite being busy and facing difficulties, he always takes care of all the work of the association, helping the association to develop and unite more and more. We admire Mr. Tinh for that reason” - Mr. Nguyen Van Viem, a member of the Hue Association inNghe Anshare.

In his sharing, Mr. Tinh repeatedly mentioned Vinh city, Nghe An as a major milestone in his life. This city, this land of scorching Lao wind, has favored him with the opportunity to develop his career and meet his wife - who always respects and supports all his decisions.
Mr. Tinh confided: “Although there are still many hardships, I consider myself a lucky person. I believe that not many wives are happy when their husbands spend a lot of time on community activities and spend a lot of money to take care of their children. With the “good fortune” I have received in Nghe An, I wish to give more, to share more…”.
