(Baonghean.vn) - On these hot days, people in Ngoc Son commune (Thanh Chuong) often go to Lam river to catch mussels. Every time they wade in the river, they can both get mussels to improve their meals and take a cool bath to cool off.

According to local people, this year there are quite a lot of mussels on Lam River, especially in Oi beach area, Ngoc Son commune, so for the past few months, people have been going to the river every day to catch mussels. People here go to catch mussels by tying mussel containers such as basins, oi, and sacks to one end of a rope, and tie the other end across their waists to prevent them from being washed away by water. In the afternoon around 3pm, when the weather was still hot, people from Thach Son, Lam Son, Lam Thang hamlets... called each other to go catch mussels, many families including husband, wife and children went. The work of catching mussels on the river was quite noisy and bustling. Every time they went to the river, working hard for a few hours, each person could earn 4-5 kg of mussels, some people got 9-10 kg. Since the beginning of the dry season, people here have caught tons of mussels. Mr. Huu shared that catching mussels is not only fun, but also improves the meal, especially helping his children experience the peaceful and loving life in their hometown.
