Residents in the border region of Nghe An province have surrendered numerous homemade guns.
On June 3rd, Na Ngoi Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard Command) received numerous homemade weapons and explosives surrendered by border residents.
Officers and soldiers of the unit went directly to each village, meeting with households to disseminate information about legal regulations related to the management and use of weapons and explosives; at the same time, they analyzed the safety risks from storing and using homemade guns in daily life and hunting.
Through public awareness campaigns, many people have become aware of the dangers of illegally possessing weapons and have voluntarily brought them to the Border Guard forces to surrender them.
As a result, the unit received 6 muzzle-loading rifles voluntarily surrendered by residents of Ka Duoi and Phu Kha 1 villages. Most of these rifles had been kept by the villagers for many years for hunting or protecting their fields.
Voluntary surrender of weapons contributes to reducing the risk of unfortunate accidents, maintaining security and order in the area, and promoting the role of the people in building a peaceful, stable, and developed border region.
