Leaders must know how to spread the 'fire' of passion.
(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper reporter had an interview with Mr. Hoang Dang Bao - Head of Vinh City Dance Sport Club.
- Hello Mr. Hoang Dang Bao! As we know, the October 15 Award is a noble award of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) to give to union officials, members and outstanding young people nationwide. You are honored to be the only representative of Nghe An province to receive this award this year. Could you share a little about the "atmosphere" at the award?
- This year, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union has selected 80 outstanding individuals to award the October 15th prize from nominations from provinces and cities across the country and units and member associations to cadres and members who have made positive contributions to the youth movement, effectively implementing campaigns of the Vietnam Youth Union in provinces and cities in many fields such as: new rural construction, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, economic development... I am honored to receive the award for building clubs, teams, and youth groups with the activities of the Vinh City Dance Sport Club at the award ceremony yesterday (October 13). This is truly a joy and a great surprise for me personally.

- It is known that the Dance Sport Club that you are the head of is a place to learn sport dancing that many people of all ages in Vinh city seek out. The success of the Club must have gone through many difficulties, when Vinh is considered a "latecomer" city in the dance trend. Partly it may be due to the Nghe people's perspective on dancing, and the locality does not have the space or environment to develop this activity. Thus, if you are not passionate enough to persevere, it is very difficult to successfully build a model of a sport dance club...
- Yes, it is a passion!... When studying sports dance in Hanoi, the idea of establishing a Dance Sport Club arose to gather people with the same passion and interests. Now the Club has many subjects and ages participating in the course. In particular, I teach dance classes for children aged 5-15, first to practice health, then also to discover children with potential for further training, organize them to compete in domestic competitions and be the core to develop the sports dance movement in Nghe An. But I also set conditions, in addition to talent, children must be obedient, study well, obey their parents... Many children participating in domestic competitions have also won certain awards, I am very happy about this, but the important thing is that the Dance Sport Club has become a useful playground for many young people in Vinh city. Besides, through the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union, I also participate in teaching sports dance to union members and young people in some districts, cities and towns in the province.
- Young people today tend to form clubs, teams, associations, and groups based on their interests and professions. However, not many clubs can maintain long-term and effective operations like yours. Some people think that you have been ahead of the curve, keeping up with the trend well; others say that your passion was "lucky"...
- In my opinion, each club, team, association, or group, when established, must have a clear purpose, goal, and long-term strategy for its activities. In addition, the leader must be enthusiastic and know how to "inspire" those around him to truly ignite his passion. However, the most important issue is funding - there must be a solution to have long-term funding for operations...
- So to have funds?...
- In Vinh city, I see many clubs, teams, and volunteer groups that have very good ways of doing things such as collecting recycled materials, selling milk in the morning, etc., thereby having a source of funding to organize volunteer activities. In addition, to make these models more organized and effective, the role of the Youth Union at all levels and the Youth Union organization is very important. Currently, the Provincial Youth Union organizes many activities to support and improve the quality of many clubs, associations, and groups through orientation and bridging work so that clubs can exchange, meet, exchange experiences, and compete with each other; as well as providing additional knowledge in organizing and participating in activities. However, this work still needs to be promoted because it has not yet fully connected the needs and interests of all youth groups in the province.
- Thanks for the chat!
