Facebook users can post status in 45 languages at the same time
Facebook currently has 1.65 billion members worldwide and the social network wants to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to help people communicate and understand each other more easily.
Last weekend, Facebook introduced a new software that can automatically translate posts into many different languages. Specifically, after composing a status, caption for a photo, video..., users can click on the right arrow, point down to a list to choose to translate the content into a number of other languages (up to 45 languages).

User status can be displayed in multiple languages at the same time. |
This translation software has only been tested on a small group of users and on about 5,000 Pages.
Facebook says that half of its members speak a language other than English, or 25 million posts a day. The new tool will use artificial intelligence to analyze and predict which languages users might want to add. The software will also mine information such as members’ geographic locations and the language they primarily share in.
AI is a hot buzzword in Silicon Valley. Google is betting its future on investing in and integrating artificial intelligence into every product. Microsoft and Facebook are also working on chatbots that intelligently interact with users.
