The movement builder in village One
(Baonghean.vn) - After 9 years in the army, he returned to his hometown. After 10 years as deputy secretary, then 7 years as secretary of the commune party committee, he retired. Now 75 years old, with his attachment, concerns, and awareness and responsibility as a party member, he still receives the trust of the people to continue to take on the responsibility of a party cell secretary, working side by side with the people to develop the economy, maintaining solidarity among people.
Economic Development Resolution
Along both sides of the straight, wide asphalt road from the center of Dien Tan commune to Hamlet One, groups of children are playing happily, enjoying the summer holidays. On the other side of the road, separated by a fairly wide ditch, are the vast fields of the villages in Dien Tan commune. On the hot sunny days of June, the villagers are busy harvesting peanuts. Each field corresponds to a household with a few members, covering it with tarpaulins and carrying tools to pack it right in the field before taking it home. The peanuts are left in the field as fertilizer.
Secretary of the Dien Tan Commune Party Committee Luu Van Thu asked about the crop situation of the people and said that, along with income from growing crops such as peanuts, corn, and potatoes, the people of Dien Tan Commune also have significant income from growing hybrid rice, raising livestock, and exporting labor.

Like the people in other villages, the people of Hamlet One are also busy with the harvest season. Mr. Dau Luong - Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet One said that in the past, when the people of Hamlet One had not yet planted hybrid rice or cultivated additional vegetables, life was still full of difficulties and shortages. Even his family was the same, surrounded by poverty and hardship when the whole family's income depended on a few fields, but each year there was only one crop, and the productivity was low. However, the difficult period that Mr. Dau Luong mentioned was before the year 2000.
Adding more information about this, Secretary of the Dien Tan Commune Party Committee Luu Van Thu continued Mr. Dau Luong's words that at that time, Hamlet Mot was one of the poorest and most disadvantaged hamlets in Dien Tan Commune. Production movements in Dien Tan Commune, especially in Hamlet Mot, were still very limited, especially hybrid rice cultivation, which was only one crop per year. People did not have the habit of growing hybrid rice, and still grew old rice varieties with low productivity and poor quality.
Happy and a little proud, the Party Secretary of Mot Dau Luong village said: "Looking at the infrastructure of the village community, hamlets as well as the houses of the people, many people of our generation at that time could not imagine that there would be a day when our homeland would flourish, be prosperous, and even our spiritual life would be as joyful as it is today". To have the change in people's lives like today is a process of effort of the Party cell as well as each person; it is the unanimous effort of each cadre, each Party member, each person when implementing the Party cell's resolution.
Secretary of the Party Cell of Mot Village, Dau Luong, said that realizing that hybrid rice is a high-yielding rice variety with many advantages that can change the economic face of the village, the Party Cell of Mot Village held a meeting and passed a resolution to plant hybrid rice. From there, they focused on leading and directing people to convert crops and livestock to improve their lives and increase their income.

In just a short time, the Party cell issued a resolution, the Party cell secretary's family and Party members implemented it first, creating the earliest hybrid rice planting movement in Dien Tan commune at that time. After the victory of hybrid rice, the people of Hamlet 1 almost absolutely trusted the orientations and directions of the Party cell, continued to develop winter crops such as potatoes and corn and promoted livestock raising. Therefore, life was improved day by day, the appearance of the countryside also improved accordingly.
Building movements
When families in Hamlet One gradually became stable and secure in their income and jobs, the Hamlet One Party Cell continued to provide directions on building cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movements and building new rural areas, encouraging children to strive to study. Walking around the small alleys that were neatly planned and kept clean here, we heard people "show off" the most interesting activities of associations and groups. "There are associations and groups that only exist in our hamlet, such as the Rat Year Association, Tiger Age Association, Village Football Association...", a resident of Hamlet One happily said.
Mr. Luu Dang Quang - Head of the Elderly Association of Hamlet Mot also emphasized that the movements in Hamlet Mot have been particularly developed in recent years, especially the associations and groups. Curious about the effectiveness and influence of the associations and groups here, we were told in detail by the cadres of the Dien Tan Commune Party Committee and members of the Veterans Association of Hamlet Mot about the interesting and useful activities of the movements here. "Regardless of which association or group, the purpose is to create a joyful, united and supportive atmosphere, encouraging each other to work, labor and join hands to build the village", Mr. Dau Luong emphasized. This is also the goal that the resolutions on movement development of Hamlet Mot Party Cell have directed and accompanied the people to carry out for decades. When organizing activities for each association or group, the members voluntarily contribute funds, those who have a lot contribute a lot, those who have little contribute a little, those who contribute their efforts... depending on their abilities. The happiest time is when Tet and Spring come, no matter where children go, they always try to arrange to return to their hometown, to have fun and contribute to building the village and neighborhood through football and volleyball exchanges, donating to help poor families, contributing to the scholarship fund, giving gifts, encouraging good students...

From 2000 to now, the Party Cell of Hamlet Mot has developed comprehensively, especially since 2020, along with practical resolutions to help increase income, arouse collective movements, the people of Hamlet Mot have supported investment in building infrastructure within the hamlet with a total value of about 1.5 billion VND along with hundreds of square meters of land donated by the people. With the support of more than 200 tons of cement from the State, plus the contributions of money, labor and land donations from the people, the muddy roads, small, narrow alleys in Hamlet Mot have been gradually replaced by spacious concrete roads that meet new rural standards, especially the inner-village roads and the roads to the cemetery. In addition, from the contributions of children far from home, from the appeal of associations and groups, Hamlet Mot has completed upgrading, building the hamlet's sports area and restoring the ancient village well; built a flag-lit road, creating a synchronous, clean and beautiful landscape.
Party members go first
In the 2000s, the Party Cell of Hamlet One, Dien Tan Commune, had only 22 party members; now the number has increased to 31. Over the past several decades, the Party Cell of Hamlet One, as well as the people here, has gone through many ups and downs, with times of mounting difficulties. However, the strength of solidarity and enthusiasm of the hamlet executive committee and party members here have gradually helped their hometown to prosper and change. And for the same amount of time, Mr. Dau Luong has been attached to the hamlet, worrying about the role of a person who "eats at home but carries the burden of the whole village".

“This year, the Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet Mot is 75 years old. He has spent nearly 30 years as a deputy secretary, then a party cell secretary at the grassroots level after spending 9 years fighting in the army,” said Secretary of the Party Committee of Dien Tan Commune, Luu Van Thu. Confiding about the years he lived and worked with the people of Dien Tan Commune, Mr. Dau Luong said that after being discharged from the army, he returned to his locality and joined the Party Committee of the commune. After 10 years as a deputy secretary, then 7 years as the Party Committee Secretary of the commune, he retired and lived at the Party Cell of Hamlet Mot. He thought that after retirement, he would focus on taking care of his family with his wife and children, supporting their education. But then, the realities of the locality, the concerns and desires to help the people, combined with the awareness and responsibility of a Party member, he was again assigned the responsibility of a party cell secretary by the grassroots.
Up to now, at the age that is “rare” as Uncle Ho once said, he is still diligent and devoted to the village. “I have reached the age where I need to rest, what I want most is to create resources for the Party cell, to build up factors to continue helping people maintain solidarity. Only with solidarity and unanimity can the homeland develop. And to do that, the grassroots Party organization must create trust and attraction for young people to be active and want to participate. Only then will there be resources to succeed, follow in the footsteps, and preserve the grassroots Party cell,” Mr. Dau Luong shared.
He added that since the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Regulation No. 08-QD/TU on assessing the quality of Party cell activities applicable to both regular and thematic activities for grassroots Party cells, the quality of Party cell activities in Hamlet One has clearly improved. This is a good sign that helps to resolve personal concerns. By scoring in Party cell activities, not only do Party cell committees have to prepare content carefully and closely to reality, but Party members also pay more attention to their work and roles. And when they pay more attention, there will be more concerns and more constructive opinions, and the strength of the Party cell will naturally be enhanced. Along with that, the pioneering role of Party members will create a good effect for the masses to trust and follow. The proof of this is the years he has been involved in Party work in the commune and hamlet, and the changes in Hamlet One itself originated from the resolutions of the Party cell and from the leadership of Party members.

The Secretary of the Party Cell of Village One also expressed that he was very fond of and always reminded himself to follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on strengthening the Party's grassroots organizations, which is "A strong Party is due to a good Party cell, a good Party cell is due to good Party members". This is Uncle Ho's assessment and affirmation of the nature and origin of the Party's strength, the role and close relationship between Party members and Party cells. In fact, after decades of being involved in Party work, having experienced and proven by practical effectiveness, he hopes that not only himself, but also millions of Party members, comrades and teammates will continue to promote and follow his teachings.
