Model and YouTuber Aori (real name Kim Min Young, 34 years old) has officially revealed details about a serious medical incident that occurred in 2021. On Lee Ji Hye's television program, she disclosed that she faced a four-year legal battle after experiencing complications from a seemingly simple medical procedure.
Serious complications after vitamin injection procedure
The incident began in October 2021, when Aori went to a private clinic for a vitamin injection to boost her health as prescribed by her doctor. However, the procedure did not go as planned. The procedure, which was supposed to last only two hours, lasted eight hours. Upon waking up, the model was shocked to find her entire body covered in bruises.
Beyond just bruises, Aori also suffered a dangerous complication: pneumothorax, requiring close medical monitoring. Initially, she had no intention of suing and wanted to resolve the matter amicably. However, the subsequent attitude and actions of the medical facility completely changed her mind.
The legal battle cost billions of won.
According to Aori's account, the hospital unexpectedly filed a countersuit against her, demanding 12 billion won in damages. This situation forced the model to pursue counterclaims, accusing the hospital of violating medical laws to protect her personal rights.
After four years of pursuing complex legal proceedings, Aori finally won in court. However, the price paid for justice was considerable, with litigation costs amounting to billions of won.
Sharing her motivation for perseverance, Aori said she wanted to create a legal precedent to help others in similar situations in the future. She believes that vulnerable people are often victims in medical disputes, and winning the case would give them hope.
Regarding her personal life, Aori was previously married to Seo Joo Won, a famous racer from the show Heart Signal, in 2018. The couple finalized their divorce in 2022, not long after controversies surrounding their medical lawsuit began to surface.
