People from Nghe An living far from home turn their attention to their compatriots affected by floods.
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, after receiving news of the floods in their hometown, the Nghe An community living, studying, and working in many countries have organized fundraising activities to support their homeland.
In Macau, China, the Nghe An Hometown Association, in coordination with other provincial hometown associations, organized a fundraising campaign to support flood victims in Central Vietnam. In addition, each member of the association donated one day's salary; a fundraising committee was formed, and donation boxes were brought to guesthouses and streets, despite the stormy weather in Macau.

Ms. Tran Thi Que, President of the Nghe An Hometown Association in Macau, said: "In fact, during the fundraising period, many members donated 2-3 days' worth of their salary. Not only children of Nghe An and Vietnamese people living abroad, but also many people in Macau were willing to contribute money. To date, the Association has raised 21 million VND, and we will organize further fundraising in the coming days."
In Kyiv, Ukraine, the Nghe Tinh Hometown Association also established a fundraising committee, going to each kiosk and stall owned by people from Nghe An in the middle of the market to collect donations. Mr. Ho Sy Truc, the association's president, said: "To date, the association has raised nearly 60 million VND. This is the 8th year that the Nghe Tinh Hometown Association in Kyiv has organized fundraising to support our compatriots in our homeland."

In Taiwan, the Nghe An Hometown Association, in coordination with the Hometown Associations of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri provinces, has planned to organize fundraising events to support flood victims in Central Vietnam on three Sundays next month, throughout Taiwan.
