Raised by women

Due to her parents' divorce, Kellyanne Conway lived with her mother from the age of two and didn't see her father again until she was 13. Kellyanne was raised by her mother, maternal grandmother, and two aunts. "She was like the South Jersey version of The Golden Girls," Kellyanne's mother said.

Being a Catholic and apolitical family, Kellyanne's walls often displayed pictures of the Pope instead of Presidents Kennedy or Reagan.

"I remember we never had a conversation about politics," Kellyanne recalled. However, when she entered high school and attended a speech by President Ronald Reagan, the young girl was filled with new aspirations.

Different since childhood.

At high school, where Kellyanne was the cheerleading captain, she was known for being hardworking and competitive. "Kellyanne was always at the top. She would stay up until 1 a.m. studying, then go to bed and wake up at 3 a.m. for more studying," her aunt, Angela, recounted.

Maddy Gold, Kellyanne's former teacher, said: "That girl could argue non-stop. You just had to pray the bell would ring."

Kellyanne Conway won the World Blueberry Packing Championship while working on a farm near Hammonton – the blueberry capital of the world. Her former employer said, "She was very enthusiastic. Conway could pack 300 crates of blueberries a day and packed them so quickly that everyone who came to the warehouse came to watch her work."

Kellyanne Conway opened her own polling firm, even though political consulting had long been the domain of resourceful men. To achieve success, she says, she had to tirelessly contend with powerful men.

Becoming a mother at an older age

Kellyanne is married to New York lawyer George Conway III, who was involved in the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 2001. They have four children: twins Claudia and George, now 12 years old; Charlotte, 8 years old; and Vanessa, 7 years old.

Kellyanne Conway gave birth to her first child at age 37, and then to her second at ages 41 and 43. "Many people say that after 40 you don't have any eggs left, but there were actually two rolling around somewhere. Both times, I was surprised," she recounted.
