Woman went swimming in the river and got a leech in her nose

Huong Khe District General Hospital (Ha Tinh) said it had just removed a leech from the nostril of 36-year-old Ho Thi Yen, a resident of Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh, using endoscopy. The patient's health is now normal.
Ms. Yen was admitted to the hospital with difficulty breathing and a nosebleed. After taking X-rays and doing tests, the doctor discovered a live leech, as big as a chopstick and 10 cm long, crawling inside the victim’s nose.
According to patient Yen, two days ago she went swimming in the river. When she got home, she felt itchy and had an uncomfortable feeling of something moving around her nose, but she didn't think it was a leech. It was only when her nose became swollen and painful that she went to see a doctor.
