The richest woman in the Vietnamese stock market
Vietjet listed, "the person who changed Vietnam's aviation industry" became the richest woman on the stock market.
With Vietjet shares listed on the stock exchange on the morning of February 28, CEO of low-cost airline Vietjet Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao surpassed a series of famous businessmen to become the 3rd richest person on the Vietnamese stock market.
Today, the Vietnamese stock market will welcome a new stock - VJC stock of VietJet Air. This is the first airline stock listed on the Vietnamese stock market. Before VietJet, Vietnam Airlines also traded its shares but on UPCOM.

The initial price for VJC shares is 90,000 VND/share. At 90,000 VND, Vietjet's capitalization reaches 27,000 billion VND, equivalent to 1.2 billion USD. With a fluctuation range of +/-20%, in the first session, VJC's market price will fluctuate from 72,000-108,000 VND.
At the opening of the trading session, the number of orders at the ceiling price of 108,000 VND and ATO reached nearly 5 million units, but only 10 shares were matched.
According to the assessment of famous securities companies such as Bao Viet, SSI..., the price of VJC shares is likely not to stop at 90,000 or 108,000 but may reach 150,000 VND. However, the assessment is just an assessment and the future will answer the question of whether that assessment is right or wrong.

According to the prospectus, Vietjet has a charter capital of VND3,000 billion with 664 shareholders according to the list finalized as of January 12, 2017. Of which, there are 3 major shareholders owning more than 5% of the charter capital: Sunny Sunflower Investment Company Limited (23.24%), Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (9.42%) and GIC Investment Fund of the Singapore Government (5.48%).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - CEO of Vietjet - is also the 100% owner of Huong Duong Sunny Company. Thus, Ms. Thao currently directly and indirectly owns 32.66% of Vietjet's shares. Ms. Thao is known as the person who created many big changes in the Vietnamese aviation industry such as the "hybrid" low-cost airline model that creates opportunities for everyone to travel by plane. She is also mentioned a lot when VietjetAir launched marketing strategies that were so explosive that the Western press even called VietjetAir "Bikini Airlines"... One thing that few people know is that until this year's Lunar New Year, VietJetAir's domestic market share was equal to VietnamAirlines.
Preliminary calculation at the price of 108,000 VND/share, the amount of shares held by Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao and the company she 100% owns, Huong Duong Sunny, is worth up to 10,580 billion VND, making her the richest woman in the stock market when the value of her shares is only lower than billionaire Trinh Van Quyet (43,360 billion VND) and billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong (33,266 billion VND).
The value of VJC shares held by Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is also much higher than that of many famous billionaires on the stock market such as Mr. Tran Dinh Long (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat-HPG); Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon (Chairman of Novaland-NVL); or Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mobile World)....
