A woman in a mountainous district of Nghe An province died after being struck by lightning.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of May 12th, Mr. Vo Khanh Toan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district, reported that a lightning strike had occurred in the commune, resulting in the death of a woman.
Earlier, at around 4 PM on the same day, seeing that a thunderstorm was brewing, Ms. Lo Thi L. (born in 1966, residing in Dan village, Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district) went to the field near her house to clear the water flow and bring the rice home.
While clearing a ditch, Mrs. L. was unexpectedly struck by lightning. When the rain stopped and she didn't return home, her family went searching and found her lying in the field.
Ms. L. was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, but doctors concluded that she had already died.
