The woman stole 100 taels of gold from her aunt.
The police have placed the woman under criminal detention for allegedly breaking into her aunt's cupboard and stealing 100 taels of gold.
On October 22, the Vinh Long Provincial Police temporarily detained Ms. HCP (60 years old, residing in Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Province) for investigation into the crime of "theft of property". Ms. P. is suspected of stealing 100 taels of gold from her aunt.
According to initial information, on October 17th, Mrs. D.T.T. (87 years old, residing in Huu Thanh commune) reported to the Tra On District Police that her jewelry and gold bars, totaling approximately 100 taels, had been stolen.
Ms. T. stated that the gold had been stored in a cupboard for many years, and she only discovered it was missing recently when she opened the cupboard to retrieve some documents. Through investigation using professional methods, on October 19th, the police identified the suspect as Ms. P. (Ms. T.'s niece).
At the police station, P. confessed to stealing the gold in July 2023.
