People in the capital eagerly await the night of 'Vi, Giam Love'

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of November 12, for the first time, a folk art form recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage was performed in a ticketed program at the National Convention Center in Hanoi: the music night "An tinh Vi, Giam".

However, from the beginning of the week, tickets for the show were eagerly sought after by Nghe people in the capital as well as those who love Nghe songs.

During the Vi and Giam Love Night, farmers from Nghe An will sing simple, sincere songs about their daily life, work, production, and love.

The audience will hear the best artists at the Vi, Giam Clubs of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces such as Khanh Cam, Hong Van, Thanh Minh, Trong Tuan, Mai Anh... sing ancient Vi, Giam melodies such as: Giam xay lua, gia ban, vi phuong xep, vi phuong vai, vi troi non, hat doi dau giao duyen... Besides, People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Hong Luu, singers Bui Le Man, Phuong Thanh, Dang Thuat... will perform songs with Vi, Giam melodies such as Khuc hat song que, Gianh ma thuong, Dem do dua nho Bac, Cau doi cau cho...

What is more special is that the people who organized this large-scale program are mostly “outsiders”, they are not professional show organizers. They are people from Nghe An living in the Nghe An Association community in Hanoi.

Starting from the idea of ​​former students of Phan Boi Chau High School - Nghe An nearly 2 years ago, on the occasion of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a series of Vi and Giam love art programs were held in 3 cities: Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, this is a completely non-profit program series, carried out in the form of community contributions. Not only that, the music night also brings farmers to sing on the big stage, the program also supports funding to develop and preserve this art form in Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

Ms. Phan Ngoc Minh, Deputy Organizer of the Vi and Giam Love Program, said: "We not only hope to bring Vi and Giam melodies closer to the people of Nghe An who are far from home, but also hope to widely promote this folk song to people across the country."

It is known that currently, about 80 singers, artists, and artisans participating in An Tinh Vi, Giam are urgently practicing for the program. Meritorious Artist Nguyen An Ninh - General Director of the program said: "This is a Vi, Giam performance, not an introduction to Vi, Giam. Therefore, the performances in the program are carefully selected, invested in, and have close connections. The music night will touch the hearts of viewers with its simplicity and sincerity, not with anything noisy or grandiose."

Tickets to watch An Tinh Vi and Giam cost from 200,000 to 500,000 VND. This is considered the lowest ticket price ever for an art program at the National Convention Center.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Cam, former Politburo member, former Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Hanoi, is the head of the steering committee of the exchange night. The People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces also participated in coordinating the program. The money from sponsorship and ticket sales, after deducting the organization costs, will be used to support the artists and Vi and Giam folk song clubs in Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
