Vietnamese people bought nearly 24,000 cars during the Ghost Month.
Sales figures for VAMA member companies decreased by 17% compared to the previous month, but still increased by 30% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), in August (the seventh lunar month – typically a low season), total market sales reached 23,540 vehicles. While this figure represents a 17% decrease compared to the previous month, it is still a 30% increase compared to the same period last year.
By the end of August, total sales of VAMA members reached 187,407 units of all types, a 32% increase compared to the same period last year. Of these, passenger cars increased by 30%, commercial vehicles by 33%, and specialized vehicles by a remarkable 46% year-on-year.
Also during the past eight months, sales of domestically assembled vehicles increased by 35% while imported vehicles increased by 25% compared to the same period last year.
