Automakers sold more than 44,700 vehicles in October, up 6% compared to September.

The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) said that sales of member companies and some other imported brands in October were 36,560 vehicles, up 9.3% compared to September and 22.7% over the same period last year.

Combined with data from Hyundai car dealer TC Motor (8,174 vehicles), the entire market consumed 44,734 vehicles last month, a slight increase of 6% compared to the previous month. This is the second consecutive month of market sales growth after a slight decrease in August due to the impact of supply shortage.

For the second consecutive month, VinFast did not announce sales figures and did not give a specific reason.

Summing up the entire market up to October, the combined sales of VAMA, other importers and TC Motor reached 397,457 vehicles. Particularly for VAMA, the sales volume of this organization with member companies with large market shares such as Toyota, Mazda, Kia, Mitsubishi... after the first 10 months of 2022 was at 332,963 vehicles. If maintaining a stable growth rate like the past two months, sales for the first time in 8 years, since being recorded in 2014, could exceed 400,000 vehicles.

Car consumption grows towards the end of the year thanks to preferential policies and discounts from manufacturers and dealers. With hot cars in short supply, customers have to wait 1-2 months for delivery, so shopping has started right now to have a car to play Tet.

The Vietnam Motor Show 2022 (VMS) that ended at the end of October recorded the highest number of orders ever with nearly 2,000 cars sold (the exhibition lasted 5 days). In addition, there were thousands of orders for cars that were about to be sold. This shows people's great interest in cars, especially after 2 years of stagnation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Because the potential of a market of more than 98 million people like Vietnam is still large, many new car companies have recently sought to sell cars in Vietnam. For example, Chinese car company Chery, Czech car company Skoda./.
