Who is the talented wife of the Canadian Prime Minister?

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was born on April 24, 1975, in Sainte-Adèle, Quebec, and grew up in the town of Mount Royal. She is the only child of Jean Grégoire, a stockbroker, and Estelle Blais, a former nurse. Sophie graduated with a degree in communications from McGill University in Montreal. She worked for a newspaper before becoming a host for a local television channel. She then became a reporter for ETalk, Canada's largest entertainment news program.

Sophie officially met Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in June 2002 when they both hosted the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix to raise money for the Starlight children's charity. The woman later shared with Canada's Chatalaine newspaper: "We laughed and talked and realized we had a special connection. I knew then that this was someone I needed to think seriously about."

A few days later, Sophie emailed Trudeau, but Trudeau was not ready for a serious relationship and did not respond. But fate arranged everything. They accidentally met again that summer, and Trudeau started asking her out. They had dinner at a restaurant and went to a bar, singing karaoke to Elton John and Beatles songs in a private room. At the end of the day, Justin Trudeau whispered to her: "You came to me. It's been 32 years and now I'm thinking about you - the person I thought would never appear. I'll wait for you all my life."

Sophie has been by her husband's side since he was elected prime minister in 2015, from accompanying him to world leaders like Barack and Michelle Obama, greeting Prince William and his wife when they visited Canada, to meeting Queen Elizabeth II. She has sometimes accompanied him to film premieres.

After 12 years of living together, the couple had two sons and one daughter.

Sophie is actively involved in charities related to women's rights, mental health, and efforts to bring clean water to people.
