(Baonghean.vn) -This past week, prices of most essential goods remained relatively stable. However, some fruits and vegetables saw price decreases, and supply was abundant.

Due to abundant supply, the retail prices of some vegetables and fruits have decreased. Specifically: bitter melon is 10,000-12,000 VND/kg, down 3,000 VND/kg; zucchini is 14,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg; tomatoes range from 10,000-13,000 VND/kg; eggplant is 6,000-10,000 VND/kg (depending on the market in each locality), down 2,000 VND/kg…

This past week, the prices of some fruits have decreased, and the supply is abundant.

Some fruits, such as avocados, plums, mangoes, cantaloupes, watermelons, and coconuts, have started to enter their peak season, with prices decreasing by 2,000-3,000 VND/kg compared to last week. Meanwhile, out-of-season fruits like lemons are currently fetching good prices, retailing at 40,000 VND/kg, an increase of 10,000 VND/kg (at markets in Vinh City).

Food market: Rice prices in the province are relatively stable. High-quality rice produced locally sells for 12,500-14,500 VND/kg (in districts and towns) and in Vinh City for approximately 13,000-16,500 VND/kg; fragrant jasmine rice (Southern Vietnam) is priced from 14,500-16,000 VND/kg, etc.; peanuts are priced from 45,000-50,000 VND/kg, and black sesame seeds from 55,000-60,000 VND/kg (Grade 1). Currently, some localities in the province have begun harvesting the early rice crop, therefore, rice prices are expected to decrease next week.

This week, the retail price of RON 92 gasoline increased to 15,829 VND per liter from 3 PM on May 20th. Retail prices for gas cylinders ranged from 196,000 to 320,000 VND per 12 kg cylinder (depending on the brand).

The gold market experienced erratic fluctuations. On the first day of the week (May 16th), the average gold price (buying-selling) traded at 33.8-34.1 million VND/ounce. By May 19th, the price began to plummet, trading at 33.5-33.7 million VND/ounce on May 20th, a decrease of approximately 300,000 VND/ounce compared to the beginning of the week.

Other essential items such as: fresh food, livestock, poultry, seafood; construction materials, agricultural supplies, medical supplies, educational supplies, technological products, and milk for children under 6 years old remained stable last week compared to the previous week.
