In 2012, when he was the Deputy Parish Priest of Quan Lang in Tuong Son - Anh Son, Father Nguyen Dinh Thuc secretly went to Con Cuong district many times to illegally preach. Mr. Thuc was also behind the fight between extremists in the parish and the people of Con Cuong district, typically the serious disturbance on July 1, 2012 in Trung Huong village, Yen Khe commune, injuring many people, including parishioners.

At that time, he was also the mastermind in the case of illegal detention when officials and people of Yen Khe commune came to persuade them not to preach illegally, because Con Cuong in general and Trung Huong - Yen Khe in particular were not the areas under the responsibility of Quan Lang parish and there were almost no followers of religion.

After the incident, the people of Yen Khe in particular and the people of Con Cuong in general were very angry. Without the direction of the provincial leaders and the authorities advising the people not to act rashly, bloodshed would have been inevitable and the parishioners of Quan Lang parish would certainly have suffered the most. Father Thuc himself had to ask for help from the provincial leaders before he could return home safely.

Nguyen Dinh Thuc incited people from Quan Lang parish (Anh Son) to cause trouble in Yen Khe (Con Cuong) in July 2012.

It was thought that after that incident, Mr. Thuc would seriously correct and fulfill his role as a dignitary, advising parishioners to live a good life and follow their religion, and for both religions to unite to build their homeland and develop the country.

However, recently, on February 14, 2017, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thuc was the mastermind, holding a loudspeaker to call out, incite, coerce, and organize a number of people from Song Ngoc parish to march into Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh to "file a lawsuit against FORMOSA", "demand compensation for the people", but in fact, to disturb public order in the area. These actions have seriously violated the law, contrary to the positive results and efforts of the government, contrary to the direction and activities of the Catholic Church of Vietnam, contrary to the duties and responsibilities of a religious dignitary, causing great public indignation. Even in the Catholic community, many people also protested, demanding that the law punish them severely, and restore social order and discipline.

The actions of priest Nguyen Dinh Thuc not only failed to fulfill his duty of leading parishioners to "live a good life and follow their religion", "respect God and love their country", and "live the gospel in the heart of the nation", but also pushed believers to violate the law, going against the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies on religion.
