Mr. Nguyen Huu Quang - former Chairman of Bai Son Commune People's Committee said that from July 3rd until now, Do Luong Cement Factory has been continuously pumping water to save the commune's rice from drought. Initially, that precious water source has saved more than 100 hectares of rice in the severely drought-stricken areas in hamlets 1 and 2 of the commune.
“That irrigation water source is truly as precious as gold, because the summer-autumn rice fields are in the stage of preparing to form ears and bloom. If not irrigated in time, there is a risk of crop failure, or even rice burning. This is the main crop of the year, so the support of Do Luong Cement Factory to pump water to fight drought is very valuable, the commune government and people are very grateful. We really appreciate the water source and organize reasonable regulation to effectively fight drought,” said Mr. Nguyen Huu Quang.
