A massive stilt house in a mountainous district of Nghe An province was engulfed in flames.

At around 11:00 AM on September 6th, many residents in Hop Thuan hamlet, Dong Hop commune (Quy Hop district, Nghe An province) saw black smoke rising from the largest wooden stilt house in the area. Shortly after, a fierce fire engulfed the corrugated iron roof covering the front of the house.

Reportedly, the stilt house is located on a 1-hectare plot of land. This entire stilt house, owned by the LA business owner, is considered the largest in the Mekong Delta, featuring elaborate design, carvings, and intricate details. All the columns, trusses, doors, walls, horizontal beams, and couplets are made from old ironwood. Among them, 30 main columns each have a diameter of over 50 cm.

As soon as the incident was discovered, local residents helped the family put out the fire and called the authorities to carry out firefighting operations.

No casualties have been reported from the fire.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
