In the video, two young Asian girls, apparently foreigners, dressed in revealing clothes, can be seen dancing next to the wall of Kota Kinabalu's main mosque, one of the city's tourist attractions.

Authorities have condemned the "unacceptable behavior of foreign tourists" and said the mosque was temporarily off-limits to foreigners in order to preserve the inviolability of the Muslim holy site.

Tourism Minister Christina Liew toldThe Starthat the girls will not be prosecuted criminally, as they are likely unaware of the damage their actions have caused. However, the authorities want to identify them to explain to them that "what they consider to be a fun act actually shows disrespect for local laws".
