The U.S. will respond to threats in cyberspace, but currently has no intention of discussing the issue, White House National Security Council spokesman Mark Stroh told Sputnik.

"The U.S. President has made it clear that we will take action to protect our interests, including in cyberspace, and we will do so at a time and place of our own choosing. In keeping with past public opinion, it should not be assumed that people will necessarily be aware of what actions are being taken and what actions will be taken," Stroh said.
"We won't discuss potential answers, but let's just say this: some answers you will see, and some you won't," a White House representative stated.
Earlier, NBC News quoted an anonymous senior representative from the US intelligence and classified documents department as saying that "US military hackers" had infiltrated Russian infrastructure, including electronic networks, and were ready to "launch an attack if necessary."
