The White House commented on the announcement that US hackers penetrated Russian networks. |
“The president has made it clear that we will take action to protect our interests, including in cyberspace, and we will do so at a time and place of our own choosing. Given past public opinion, it should not be assumed that people will necessarily know what actions are being taken and what actions will be taken,” Stroh said.
"We're not going to discuss potential answers, but let's just say: some of the answers you'll see, and some of them you won't," the White House said.
Earlier, NBC News quoted a statement from an anonymous senior representative from the US intelligence and classified documents department, saying that "US military hackers" had broken into Russia's infrastructure, including electronic networks, and were ready to "launch an attack if necessary".
