White House: President Trump puts Mr. Zelensky 'in the right place'
The White House said the US was satisfied with the negotiations with Ukraine.

According to TASS news agency on March 12, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said that US President Donald Trump put Volodymyr Zelensky in his place and explained to him that Washington is serious about a lasting peace agreement in Ukraine.
“President Trump was the lead negotiator, and the president put Zelensky in his place and told him that the United States is serious about a long-term peace agreement. And we are very, very pleased with the agreement that we reached today with the Ukrainians. We hope it will last for a long time and forever — that is President Trump’s goal. We are very hopeful that we can achieve that goal,” Caroline Leavitt told Fox News.
At the same time, the White House press secretary noted that there was no information about Russia's reaction to the agreements discussed in Jeddah between the United States and Ukraine.
“I have not been briefed on that,” Leavitt said. “I know Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz are working very hard on that. President Trump is very involved in the talks. The president has been briefed all day about what has been going on in Saudi Arabia.”
A US-Ukrainian delegation has met in the Saudi Arabian port city of Jeddah. The parties reportedly agreed to sign a comprehensive agreement on the development of key mineral resources soon. The Kiev government has confirmed its readiness to accept Washington’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in the conflict with Russia. In return, the US pledged to immediately resume intelligence and military assistance to Ukraine.
