Nghe An writer honored to receive ASEAN Literature Award
(Baonghean.vn) - With the work "Thong reo Ngan Hong" written about the historical figure Nguyen Cong Tru, teacher - writer Nguyen The Quang was honored to receive the ASEAN Literature Award.
On the night of November 25, at the Royal Palace of Thailand, teacher and writer Nguyen The Quang was honored to receive the Southeast Asian Literature Award.

Writer Nguyen The Quang’s work that won the award was the historical novel “Thong reo Ngan Hong”, 600 pages, about the historical figure Nguyen Cong Tru. This work also received the Vietnam Writers Association Award in 2016.
Writer and teacher Nguyen The Quang was born in 1942 in Thanh Tuong commune, Thanh Chuong district. He used to teach literature at Thanh Chuong secondary and high schools and Vinh city. After retiring, he participated in writing and became a member of the Vietnam Writers Association in 2014.

Writer Nguyen The Quang is the author of many valuable historical novels such as:Dangeryesn Du(Writers Association Publishing House 2010);Songyesng dohpeopleUmbrellang, wrote about Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, Uncle Ho's mother (Writers Association Publishing House 2013); most recently, in October 2019, he released the bookRoadng vyesThaMr. Long, (Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House) wrote about General Vo Nguyen Giap.
On this occasion, the writer from Nghe An, along with two other Vietnamese writers, Le Minh Khue and Tran Hung, received the Southeast Asian Literature Award in Bangkok.
The ASEAN Literature Prize has been awarded annually to poets and writers from Southeast Asia since 1979. Many Vietnamese writers have won this prize, including To Huu, Ma Van Khang, Huu Thinh, Bang Viet, Do Chu,...
The awards are usually presented by a member of the Thai Royal Family. This year, the Crown Princess of Thailand hosted the awards ceremony.
