Cam Xa Doai (Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district) was once a tribute offered to the emperor, possessing a unique flavor unmatched by any other orange. The oranges are bright yellow, fragrant when cut open, with a honey-yellow flesh and a sweet, refreshing taste, making them a popular choice as Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts. Photo: TP

In Nghi Dien commune, there are approximately 50 households growing Xa Doai oranges, covering a total area of 30 hectares. During Tet (Lunar New Year), Xa Doai oranges are sold by locals for 70,000-80,000 VND per fruit, or even 100,000 VND per fruit. Despite the high price, this type of orange is in high demand, with many people placing orders a month in advance of Tet. (Photo: TP)

Bananas are an indispensable fruit during the Lunar New Year celebrations: the Kitchen God Festival, offerings on the altar during Tet, and the opening ceremony of the new year... Therefore, the price of bananas increases 3-4 times compared to normal days during this period. Farmers meticulously care for their banana plants to produce beautiful bunches for sale during Tet.
