The songwriter of the hit song 'Sorry, My Love' reveals his income for the first time.
Speaking to a VietNamNet reporter, musician Minh Nhien revealed for the first time what he considers his modest annual income from music royalties.

Minh Nhien, born in 1970, is little known to be the younger brother of musician Tran Minh Phi and pianist Tran Minh Phuong.

According to VietNamNet's exclusive sources, Minh Nhien's music royalties currently amount to a substantial 500 million VND per year, or an average of 100-150 million VND per quarter – quite high and stable at the Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center.
Unlike many of his colleagues who focus solely on their creative careers, he also ventures into the arts in various roles such as building his personal brand and producing programs.

Decades ago, Minh Nhien was known as a mentor who helped singers like Kasim Hoang Vu, Giang Hong Ngoc, Maya, Kiwi Ngo Mai Trang, and others build and shape their style and image before making their public debut.
In recent years, the musician from the 70s generation has also opened a production company bearing his name, behind television programs such as:The Cover Show, The Only...along with numerous art performances both domestically and internationally.
Having witnessed many teacher-student relationships break down on the show, he feels fortunate that he maintains good relationships with his former students, keeping in touch even though they no longer work together.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Minh Nhien had to close his company and is currently only producing programs as an individual. "This may sound like a big deal, but it doesn't affect me much because I still have the same client base from when I opened the company," he said.
Minh Nhien added: "Unlike many of my colleagues, I don't persistently pursue a career in songwriting, but whatever I do, I only focus on art; I don't engage in any business or trade."
