Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton missed the win over Spurs last weekend with an ankle sprain, but manager Glasner confirmed the midfielder had trained all week and was fit to play. Meanwhile, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure remain sidelined with long-term knee injuries.

If Wharton starts, either Will Hughes or Jefferson Lerma could make way in midfield. Daichi Kamada is another option in midfield.

Eze is in fine form, scoring five goals in his last four games and having four goal involvements in the FA Cup this season (three goals, one assist). He is expected to play up front alongside Ismaila Sarr, who scored twice in the semi-final against Aston Villa.

Eddie Nketiah – an FA Cup winner with Arsenal in 2020 – is also an attacking option, having been involved in three goals in the last three FA Cup games (two goals, one assist), but Jean-Philippe Mateta, with 17 goals this season, is likely to start. The defence is likely to remain largely the same, protecting former Man United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

For Man City, they will continue to be without Rodri (cruciate ligament/fitness), Nathan Ake (foot), Oscar Bobb (hamstring) and John Stones (thigh). However, the first three are showing positive signs of recovery.

Guardiola could recall Nico O'Reilly and Matheus Nunes as makeshift defenders. O'Reilly has been a standout performer in the FA Cup this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in five games – only bettered by Exeter City's Josh Magennis (six goal contributions).

Kevin De Bruyne – who has an impressive record in the FA Cup – is likely to start his fourth and final FA Cup final for Man City. The Belgian midfielder has been involved in four goals in his last three finals (one goal, three assists). Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Nico Gonzalez will compete for the midfield spots alongside De Bruyne.

Phil Foden and James McAtee could be replaced by Jeremy Doku and Omar Marmoush after their lacklustre display against Southampton. Up front, Erling Haaland is almost certain to start – he has scored 30 goals in 41 games this season, including six in four games against Palace. However, Haaland has yet to score in five appearances at Wembley for City – three of which have come in the FA Cup.

Latest Crystal Palace vs Man City football review

Will Crystal Palace be third time lucky or will their run of defeats against Manchester continue? The Eagles have reached the FA Cup final for the third time in their history, having lost to Manchester United in 1990 and 2016. They are one of only four teams to have reached two finals without winning the trophy, along with Queen's Park (1884 and 1885), Birmingham City (1931 and 1956), and Watford (1984 and 2019).

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City prediction: FA Cup Betting Tips & Odds | The Independent

Oliver Glasner's side have eased into the Wembley clash after overcoming Stockport County, Doncaster Rovers, Millwall, Fulham and Aston Villa. They have conceded just one goal in the competition and scored three in each of their last three rounds, including a convincing 3-0 win over Villa in the semi-finals three weeks ago.

Since then, Palace have extended their unbeaten run to five games, with a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest and a 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur thanks to an impressive double from star man Eberechi Eze.

Currently 12th in the Premier League and with the same number of points as last season (49) with two games left to play, Palace have put their hopes of a top 10 finish on hold as they aim for historic glory. Winning the FA Cup would not only cement their place in the history books but also secure a place in next season’s Europa League – their last European appearance was in 1998 (Intertoto Cup).

Ahead of the game, Glasner insisted his players were “training as normal” and said there was “no reason” to change their preparation during this crucial week, as it would “only confuse them further”.

In front of more than 30,000 Palace fans, Glasner and his players will try to end a seven-game winless streak against Man City (D3 L4), stretching back five weeks ago when they lost 5-2 at the Etihad despite leading by two goals after just 21 minutes.

Palace have also lost three of their last four FA Cup meetings with City – their only win coming in the first round of the FA Cup in January 1921 (2-0). However, they have won three of their last five finals in all competitions, including two in the Championship promotion playoffs (1997 and 2013) and the now-defunct Full Members Cup (1991).

Man City have become the first team in English football history to reach both major domestic cup finals in three consecutive seasons – they reached the EFL Cup final in four consecutive seasons from 2017-18 to 2020-21, and are now set to reach their third successive FA Cup final.

Indeed, Wembley has become their “second home” having played under the iconic dome 30 times since 2011 – at least seven more than any other side. Last month, Guardiola’s side reached their seventh consecutive FA Cup semi-final – a record – by beating Nottingham Forest 2-0, following wins over Salford City, Plymouth Argyle, Leyton Orient and Bournemouth in the previous rounds.

The FA Cup is City's only chance of winning domestic silverware this season, after their four-year Premier League dominance came to an end in a turbulent 2024-25 campaign. They are looking to end the season with a win over Palace and a top-five finish.

Champions League qualification remains up for grabs, especially after a disappointing goalless draw at already-relegated Southampton last time out. If Chelsea and Aston Villa (who are two points behind) win their next games against Man United and Tottenham, Man City could drop to sixth.

While Guardiola may be looking to save his energy for Tuesday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth, his focus will almost certainly be on the club's 14th FA Cup final. Victory would see them claim an eighth FA Cup title and move level with Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs – only behind Arsenal (14) and Man United (13).

Man City are now unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions (W7 D3), and they have won their last three FA Cup meetings with Palace by an aggregate score of 18-4, including an 11-4 win in the fifth round in 1926 – the highest-scoring game in Man City's history.

After losing to Man United in last season's FA Cup final, City will be looking to avoid losing two consecutive domestic finals – something that first happened in 1926 and 1933, when they lost to Bolton and Everton respectively.
