Latest Southampton vs Fulham team information
Southampton's Albert Gronbaek is slowly recovering from an Achilles injury, but this weekend's game may be too early for him to return. Charlie Taylor remains sidelined with a hip injury.
The central defensive trio of Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Jan Bednarek and Jack Stephens are likely to continue, with Kyle Walker-Peters and Ryan Manning playing on the wings. Ugochukwu and Flynn Downes will take charge in midfield.
Coach Rusk may change a few positions in attack, as names like Tyler Dibling and Cameron Archer are impressing and are ready to replace Mateus Fernandes, Kamaldeen Sulemana or Paul Onuachu.
For Fulham, Reiss Nelson is still nursing a hamstring injury, while Rodrigo Muniz (muscle injury) and Emile Smith Rowe (minor injury) will be assessed ahead of the game, after missing the clash with Chelsea.
Harry Wilson has recovered from a foot injury and came on as a substitute against Chelsea after nearly three months out. He could feature this weekend, but Silva is likely to stick with Ryan Sessegnon and Alex Iwobi on the flanks.
Iwobi is enjoying his best Premier League scoring season with nine goals – including one last weekend – while Raul Jimenez leads the team's scoring charts with 12 and will be first choice if Muniz fails to return.
The back four of Kenny Tete, Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey and Antonee Robinson are likely to continue to start, although Timothy Castagne and Jorge Cuenca are also in fierce competition for playing time.

Latest Southampton vs Fulham football commentary
Southampton were relegated from the Premier League at the earliest possible time two weeks ago, but a 1-1 draw at West Ham last weekend meant they avoided setting a new record for lowest points tally in a season – now equalling Derby County's 11 points tally in 2007-08.

Southampton looked set for a 27th Premier League defeat of the season until Lesley Ugochukwu equalised in the 93rd minute after Jarrod Bowen had opened the scoring for West Ham. It was also their sixth point away from home – one more than they had picked up at St Mary's.
With Championship football already secured for the 2025–26 season, Southampton are now playing for honours. However, they still have a slim chance – albeit a slim one – of escaping the bottom of the table, seven points behind 19th-placed Leicester City. Notably, the two teams will face each other early next month.
Simon Rusk has been in charge of Southampton for two games since Ivan Juric left on 7 April. It was his second time in charge after Russell Martin was sacked in December, with one of the games being a 0-0 draw at Fulham – one of just two clean sheets this season.
Southampton have conceded 78 Premier League goals this season – just two short of their all-time record of 80 in 1971–72 – and are now looking to avoid becoming just the fourth team in the history of the competition to lose at least 14 home games in a season, after Sunderland (14 in 2002–03 and 2005–06), Huddersfield (14 in 2018–19) and Watford (15 in 2021–22).
Fulham's ambitions of qualifying for Europe have been dealt a blow in recent weeks, with four defeats in their last six Premier League games, including a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth and a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea – two of their closest rivals.
Fulham looked set to win the West London derby against Chelsea last weekend, but conceded two goals in the 83rd and 90th minutes to suffer their 11th defeat of the season. Manager Marco Silva described the result as “very harsh” for his side, but admitted they were “punished” for a poor second-half performance.
Fulham are currently ninth in the table, one point behind Bournemouth (eighth) and nine points off the top seven with five games remaining. So the chance of qualifying for next season’s Conference League is still there, but it won’t be easy.
Fulham go into their clash with Southampton having won two of their last three Premier League meetings – as many as they had in their previous 11 (D5 L4).
However, Marco Silva’s side have lost their last three away games in the Premier League – as many as they lost in their previous 16 away games (W8 D5). Two of those recent defeats have come in the south of England, against Brighton (1-2) and Bournemouth (0-1).
