Latest Tottenham vs MU squad information

While Amorim fielded many key players against Chelsea to maintain their competitive spirit, Postecoglou kept many key players on the field against Aston Villa.

So, although Antonin Kinsky played well against Villa, Guglielmo Vicario will return to the starting line-up. Rodrigo Bentancur, Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Pedro Porro will also be back in the side.

Captain Son Heung-min has just returned from a foot injury and could start again. However, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin will all miss the final.

Solanke – supported by Son – will spearhead the attack, with five goals and four assists in the Europa League this season, and has scored in each of his last four meetings with Man Utd.

On the opponent's side, Bruno Fernandes is leading the list of top scorers with 7 goals, while Rasmus Hojlund and several other players have 6 goals.

Only Lyon's Rayan Cherki (12) has been involved in more goals than Bruno (11) in the Europa League this season. For English clubs, only Olivier Giroud (15 for Chelsea in 2018-19) has contributed more in a single campaign.

Mason Mount and Amad Diallo – both returning from injury – both impressed against Bilbao. However, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Diogo Dalot remain doubtful; Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee are out for the rest of the season.

Latest Tottenham vs MU football review

Despite a disappointing Premier League season, Tottenham still have the chance to end the 2024-25 season with a major trophy they have craved for the past 17 years.

Spurs have won the UEFA Cup – the precursor to the Europa League – twice, in 1972 and 1984. If they win in Spain, they will become only the second English club after Liverpool to win Europe's second-tier competition three times.

Tottenham’s last appearance in a European final was a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the 2018-19 Champions League. However, having progressed through the new group stage and the knockout stages, they are just one win away from making good on coach Ange Postecoglou’s confident assertion.

Incident before Tottenham vs MU final

Despite being under immense pressure in recent months, “Big Ange” – the first Australian to lead a team to a European final – has claimed that he has always won a trophy in his second year at each club he has managed, and Tottenham are on track to continue that streak.

They booked their place in the final after a dominant 5-1 win over Norwegian phenomenon Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals, with Dominic Solanke scoring in both legs.

Finishing fourth in their group – one point behind Manchester United – the Londoners eliminated AZ Alkmaar, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bodo. They have won nine of their 14 Europa League games this season – the most Spurs have ever achieved in a single European campaign.

However, their form in the Premier League is in stark contrast: Tottenham are 17th with just one game remaining and have lost 21.

Spurs most recently lost 2-0 to Aston Villa last Friday night, but they can take confidence from recent clashes with Man Utd.

Tottenham have won all three meetings with the Red Devils this season: a 3-0 win at Old Trafford in the Premier League, then a 4-3 win in the League Cup quarter-finals, and a 1-0 home win in February.

In fact, Man Utd have failed to win in their last six meetings with Tottenham in all competitions.

The only previous meeting between the two teams in European competition was in the 1963-64 Cup Winners' Cup, when Man Utd beat Spurs 4-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

While Tottenham seek their first European title since 1984, Man Utd aim to repeat their Europa League triumph of 2017, when they beat a youthful Ajax side featuring Andre Onana and Matthijs de Ligt.

Four years later, Man Utd were in their eighth European final – only Liverpool have had more (15) among English clubs – but they lost on penalties to Villarreal, marking their third defeat in their last four finals.

Man Utd booked their place in this year's final after ending Athletic Bilbao's dream of playing in a home final with a 3-0 win in the first leg in the Basque Country, and then a 4-1 win in the second leg at Old Trafford.

Before that, they overcame Lyon in a dramatic quarter-final: leading by two goals at half-time, falling two goals behind in extra time, then scoring two more to level the aggregate score and eventually winning 7-6 thanks to a last-minute goal from Harry Maguire.

Having scored 12 goals in their last three games, Man Utd have now scored 35 in the Europa League this season – only three teams have ever scored more in a single campaign: Mönchengladbach 1972-73 (36), Porto 2010-11 (37), and Chelsea 2018-19 (36).

Ruben Amorim's side – despite their inconsistent domestic form – are unbeaten in Europe this season, and could become just the fourth team to win the Europa League without losing a game in the competition's era.

If he wins the trophy, Amorim will be the third Man Utd manager to win a major trophy in his first season, after Mourinho (2016-17) and Ten Hag (2022-23).

However, Friday's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea was their 18th Premier League defeat of the season, leaving United just one point above Spurs – and Champions League qualification a win away in Bilbao.
