(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 3 months of mistakenly transferring 400 million VND to someone else's bank account, Ms. Tran Thi Tham (Ho Chi Minh City) has received the full amount back thanks to the intervention of the Hung Nguyen District Police (Nghe An Provincial Police).
On April 23rd, Major Le Ba Khanh, Head of the Hung Yen Nam Commune Police (Hung Nguyen District), reported that they had assisted Ms. Tran Thi Tham (born in 1977), residing in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, in recovering mistakenly transferred money after it had been "lost" for three months.
Previously, on January 24th, as the owner of a gypsum production facility, Ms. Tham transferred 400 million VND to her son's account to pay for raw materials to partners. However, due to an oversight, she mistakenly transferred the money to the wrong account.bank accountother.
Immediately after the incident, Ms. Tham contacted both banks and learned that the owner of the account she mistakenly transferred money to was Mr. Tran Nguyen Anh Tuan (born in 2000), residing in Hung Yen Nam commune, Hung Nguyen district.
Unable to find the account holder's contact information, Ms. Thuy called the Hung Yen Nam Commune Police for assistance. Verification confirmed that the account holder was indeed Mr. Tran Nguyen Anh Tuan, a resident of the commune. However, this man had been working abroad for about four years, and the phone number registered for balance changes was no longer in use.
"Upon verification, it was found that because Mr. Tran Nguyen Anh Tuan had not used the phone number registered for balance changes for a long time, he was completely unaware that someone had transferred money into his account," Major Khanh stated.
Reportedly, the commune police have instructed Mr. Tran Nguyen Anh Tuan to complete the power of attorney and send it from Germany to his family to resolve the matter.
On the morning of April 22nd, after completing the necessary procedures, representatives of Mr. Tuan's family, as well as Ms. Tham and the Hung Yen Nam Commune Police, directly worked with the bank branch where Mr. Tuan opened his account and withdrew 400 million VND. The entire amount was handed over to Ms. Tham.
After receiving her lost money back after three months, Ms. Thấm burst into tears of emotion and wrote a letter of thanks to the Hung Nguyen District Police and the Hung Yen Nam Commune Police. Ms. Thấm shared that it was thanks to the enthusiastic help of the police force and the support from Mr. Tuan's family that she was able to get her money back.
