At markets such as Vinh market, Hung Dung market, Quan Lau, Quan Bau... in Vinh city, imported Tet goods are quite diverse and abundant to meet people's Tet shopping needs.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, owner of a grocery store on Nguyen Duy Trinh Street, Vinh City, said: “About a month in advance, our store prepared Tet goods when prices were still stable to avoid the situation of feverish goods near Tet, while still having reasonable prices to supply enough for consumers. Some items increased in price from 500 VND - 1,000 thousand VND...”.

Not only confectionery, beer and wine products, but also flower and ornamental plant garden owners are starting to bustle about preparing unique plants and flowers to sell for Tet. There are grapefruit trees, priced from 8 to 15 million VND/tree, trees with beautiful shapes and many fruits can cost up to tens of millions of VND; small and medium kumquat trees cost from 150,000 VND - 2,500,000 VND/tree. This year, the Vinh City market has seen the appearance of a new, unique ornamental papaya tree priced from 3 to 5 million VND/tree.

In addition, the group of household appliances serving the holiday needs such as mini gas stoves, induction cookers, electric cookers priced from 600,000-1,200,000 VND are also stimulated by supermarket systems by offering discounts of 15-25%.

Many ornamental plants and flowers for Tet are gathered about 20 days in advance, but the prices are not cheap. Each ornamental grapefruit tree costs over 8 million VND.

At the markets, pork, vegetables, and fresh food are also quite abundant, waiting for people, the prices of items are still stable such as live pigs priced from 30,000 - 35,000 VND/kg, super lean pork priced from 37,000 - 38,000 VND/kg. Seasonal vegetables such as chrysanthemums cost 5,000 VND/bunch, watercress costs 7,000 VND/bunch...

According to records, purchasing power did not increase significantly compared to the same period last year. At supermarket centers, people mainly flocked to promotional foods, or essential products to serve people's daily needs.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Hung Phuc Ward, Vinh City said: "At this time, many items in the supermarket are on sale, so I took the opportunity to buy some necessary household items...".

The atmosphere at the markets was not very bright. Right from the morning, many traders at the markets said that the goods were diverse and abundant, but purchasing power was still slow, mainly because they imported them from other regions to serve Tet for people in other places, and prices had not increased. Ms. Phan Anh Tho, Vinh market said: "There is only a week left until Tet, the number of people buying decorative items such as rubber flowers, silk flowers, peach blossom decoration accessories, houses... is gradually increasing, but purchasing power is still weak, mainly because traders come to import goods to sell. But it is predicted that around the 25th and 26th of the lunar calendar, purchasing power will increase 4-5 times compared to the present time."

Many technology products have stable prices during Tet.

Nowadays, many people no longer have the mentality of hoarding, they only buy enough for a few days of Tet. However, many families still take advantage of going shopping early to avoid the situation of goods being scarce and increasing rapidly in the days before Tet.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Hung Loc, Vinh City said: "This year, the government paid out pensions early, and our children and grandchildren are working far away, so my husband and I took the opportunity to go shopping for Tet early. Prices are now stable and goods are almost complete and abundant...".
