The beauty of Laos' first Miss Universe.

The Miss Universe Laos 2017 pageant was held on the evening of August 26th at the Lao National Convention Center in Vientiane. This was the first year the competition was organized.

Souphaphone Somvichith won the top prize and became the first representative of Laos at the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Souphaphone Somvichith is 1.76 m tall and is studying business administration.

The 20-year-old beauty previously participated in the Miss Vientiane 2016 competition and won first runner-up.

Later, Souphaphone Somvichith pursued a career as a model, performing in fashion shows and magazine photoshoots in Laos.

Miss Universe Laos 2017 is considered to meet the criteria of the Miss Universe competition, possessing a modern, sharp face and a healthy physique.

Also during the final night, the organizers selected representatives for this year's international competitions. Tonkham Phonchanhueang (right) - a 22-year-old girl, 1.75 m tall - will compete in Miss World. Phounesup Phonyotha (left) will travel to Japan next November to compete in Miss International 2017.
