'Person of the Year': Trump overtaken
In Time's "Person of the Year" poll, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is leading Donald Trump by 3 points.
RT news agency said that was the result of a survey recently conducted after Time magazine opened voting for the above award. The results of the "Person of the Year" voting will be announced by Time in December.

While the title will be decided by the magazine's editors, Time said the reader poll played a key role in helping the judges decide who shaped 2016.
At the time the poll was published, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was leading the poll with 12% of the vote. US President-elect Donald Trump was second, with 9%.
In fact, Assange was in the headlines in 2016 when WikiLeaks released a series of shocking information during the US presidential election.
These include emails from the Democratic National Committee that were leaked from the email account of John Podesta, Hillary Clinton's campaign manager. Assange's influence has not diminished despite being "imprisoned" in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
While "Person of the Year" may seem like a title reserved for uncontroversial figures, there are occasional exceptions. In fact, Adolf Hitler received such a title in 1938.
Time magazine began awarding the title "Person of the Year" in 1927 and has done so every year. Last year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was awarded the title.
This year, Time features a range of influential figures from Donald Trump to President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The reader poll closes at 11:59 p.m. on December 4, and the "Person of the Year" title will be announced three days later./.
