The conflict in Ukraine could end faster than previously thought as the most extreme nationalist battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces refuse to fight, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor said on the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.

“Interestingly, in the last 24 hours, one of Ukraine’s notorious paramilitary groups that uses Nazi symbols refused to fight. They just said, ‘We won’t die in such numbers anymore,’” the expert said.

The reluctance of the Nationalist Battalions most loyal to Kiev to fight shows that the conflict in Ukraine is in its final stages, according to Douglas MacGregor.

“It could end much quicker than I thought, as the Russians are slowly advancing towards the Dnieper. In a month and a half, we will see that all the territories east of this river are under Russian control,” predicted Colonel Douglas MacGregor.

Military campaign in Donbass

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. President Putin called its goal "to protect those who have been subjected to repression and genocide by the Kiev regime for the past eight years." He noted that the special military operation was a forced measure, Russia "has no other options, the security risk has been created to such an extent that it is impossible to respond with other measures."

According to him, Russia has been trying for 30 years to come to terms with NATO on security principles in Europe, but in response it has been met either with cruel deception and lies, or with pressure and blackmail, while the alliance, despite Moscow's objections, has gradually expanded and approached the borders of the Russian Federation.
