"Faster than we thought" - US Colonel's assessment of the situation in Ukraine

The conflict in Ukraine could end faster than previously thought because the most nationalist battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are refusing to fight, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor said on the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.

"Interestingly, in the last 24 hours, one of Ukraine's notorious paramilitary organizations that uses Nazi symbols has refused to fight. They simply said, 'We won't die in such numbers again,'" the expert said.

According to Douglas MacGregor, the reluctance of the Nationalist battalions most loyal to Kyiv to fight indicates that the conflict in Ukraine is in its final stages.

"Things could end much faster than I think, as the Russians are gradually advancing toward the Dnepr River. In the next month and a half, we will see that all the territories east of this river are under Russian control," Colonel Douglas MacGregor predicted.

Military campaign in Donbass

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. President Putin called its goal "protecting those who have been oppressed and subjected to genocide by the Kiev regime for the past eight years." He noted that the special military operation was a necessary measure, that Russia "had no other choice; the security risks had reached a point where it was impossible to respond with other measures."

According to him, Russia has tried for 30 years to reach an agreement with NATO on security principles in Europe, but in response, Russia has faced either bitter deception and lies, or pressure and blackmail, while the alliance, despite Moscow's objections, has gradually expanded and encroached upon the borders of the Russian Federation.
