Vietnam's animal feed imports in the first 11 months of 2025 recorded a 5.7% decrease compared to the same period last year, with Argentina leading in market share.

According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's import value of animal feed in the first 11 months of 2025 reached nearly US$4.19 billion, a decrease of 5.7% compared to the same period in 2024. In November 2025 alone, the import value recorded US$321.06 million, a decrease of 18% compared to October 2025 and a decrease of 23.7% compared to the same period last year.

Argentina continues to be the largest supplier.

In the supply market structure, Argentina holds the leading position, accounting for 38.2% of the country's total import value of this product group. In the first 11 months of 2025, the value of imports from Argentina reached over US$1.6 billion, an increase of 3.2% compared to the same period in 2024. However, in November 2025 alone, the import value from this market only reached US$112.58 million, a sharp decrease of 23.9% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 50.5% compared to November 2024.

Second is the US market, accounting for 17.6% of total import value with nearly $735.96 million in the first 11 months of 2025, a decrease of 17% compared to the same period last year. The trend in November 2025 also shows a decline, with imports from the US reaching only $58.96 million, down 30.8% compared to October 2025 and 29.9% compared to November 2024.

Volatility in the Brazilian market and other regions.

The Brazilian market ranks third, accounting for 10.3% of the country's total animal feed imports. The total import value from this market in the first 11 months of 2025 reached US$430.88 million, a decrease of 18.7% compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, although November 2025 saw a 39.5% decrease compared to October 2025, it recorded a dramatic growth of 110.4% compared to November 2024, reaching US$6.18 million.

Overall, the picture of animal feed imports in the first 11 months of 2025 shows a shrinking trend in terms of value compared to the previous year. The decline occurred simultaneously in many key supply markets, except for a slight increase from Argentina when considering the entire 11-month period.
