Importing large-displacement motorcycles without registration papers from Laos for resale.
Authorities discovered 35 high-powered motorcycles at two houses, each valued between 100 and 350 million VND.
On the afternoon of February 5th, the Quang Tri Criminal Police discovered a warehouse in Thach Ha (Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province) concealing 10 large-displacement motorcycles without proper documentation. The owner of the warehouse is Mr. Phan Huu Huynh (37 years old, residing in Ai Tu town, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri).
During a search of Mr. Huynh's mother-in-law's house in Ai Tu town, authorities discovered an additional 25 large-displacement motorcycles. Among these were 10 motorcycles over 175cc, and three Honda CB400cc and CB700cc models, each valued at over 350 million VND.
Mr. Huynh confessed that these motorcycles were being stored for a man named Le Van Luc (25 years old, residing in Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district). When summoned, Luc admitted that he had bought and collected the large-displacement motorcycles in Laos and southern provinces, brought them back to repair and resell for profit. All the motorcycles lacked registration papers, and many parts were used.
