According to sources from the Japanese government, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will officially announce Japan's participation in this initiative when she meets with US President Donald Trump in Washington D.C. on March 19th. The "Yellow Dome" project, which the US aims to complete by 2028, focuses on the ability to detect, track, and intercept threats from orbit.

Japan is currently considering detailed response options should it receive a request from Washington to co-develop weapons, while also focusing on modernizing its national defense network to adapt to new high-tech threats.
