At the children's level, Do Luong has won the Nghe An Newspaper Cup 8 times, most recently in the 2016 season. Last season (2023), the Do Luong children's team was eliminated in the group stage. Therefore, entering this season, the coaches and players of the Do Luong team are very eager to prove themselves and determined to win a medal.

The Nghi Loc Youth team, having performed unsuccessfully in the 2022-2023 season, was eliminated in the group stage. Entering the 26th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament in 2024, Nghi Loc has made more thorough preparations.

Accordingly, the team consists of the best young players from the amateur football talent class of Song Lam Nghe An Sports Joint Stock Company located in the area. The team currently has two players who have been scouted by Song Lam Nghe An Club and are expected to be brought in for professional training after the season ends. The Nghi Loc Children's team is expected to "make a splash" this season.

Entering the match with a balanced game in terms of physical fitness and tactics, both teams continuously launched dangerous attacks towards the opponent's goal, forcing the goalkeepers of both teams to make quite strenuous saves. In the 5th minute, from a corner kick cross, number 6 Thai Dinh Trong scored with an accurate shot to open the scoring for Do Luong Children's team.

In an attempt to equalize, the young Nghi Loc players launched a relentless attack, creating many exciting moments that put pressure on the opposing goalkeeper; accompanied by numerous tense corner kicks and throw-ins. In the 11th minute, number 4 Nguyen Gia Hung scored from a sharp pass from his teammate, leveling the score.

As if "awakened" immediately afterwards, the young players from the sesame rice cracker region burst into a powerful performance. There were a series of exciting attacks. Many shots forced goalkeeper Dang Vo Minh Dung (Nghi Loc Children's team) to make strenuous saves. However, luck did not smile upon the players from Do Luong. In the stands, the Do Luong fans covered their faces and wailed in disappointment.

In the 17th minute, taking advantage of an opponent's mistake, the Do Luong youth team was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. However, the ball hit the crossbar and bounced back. Number 6 Thai Dinh Trong attempted a shot but was unsuccessful. The two teams went into halftime with the score tied 1-1.

In the opening minutes of the second half, the game slowed down somewhat as the players showed signs of fatigue, and the coaches and fans of both teams had to boost the players' morale. Immediately afterwards, the young players played with more passion, constantly attacking and creating dangerous chances from both sides. The match was a fierce back-and-forth struggle, but no goals were scored.

In the 30th minute, taking advantage of a mistake by Nghi Loc's number 1 goalkeeper Dang Vo Minh Dung and a defensive lapse, player number 6 Thai Dinh Trong seized the opportunity, unleashing a powerful shot to increase the score to 2-1 for Do Luong Children's Team.

Despite being behind, the players in red jerseys played with great effort. The young players launched fierce counter-attacks. However, with the momentum of a team leading the score, while the Do Luong players pushed forward to attack, their defense was also solidly reinforced. Therefore, the attacks of the Nghi Loc children were only threatening in nature.

While the opposing team was busy pushing forward in search of an equalizer, the young players from Luong also advanced deep into the opponent's half, unleashing numerous shots that sent shivers down the spines of the Nghi Loc Children's defense. Goalkeeper Nguyen Duc Minh Hoang (number 15) was substituted into the Nghi Loc goal.

Despite attempts to break through the opposing defense and score a more decisive goal, the efforts of the Do Luong Children's team were in vain. The final whistle blew, and referee Duong Viet Dung gave Do Luong a narrow 2-1 victory.
